Dr. N.K. Uberoi is a teacher, a research scholar, an educationist and a well known name in Higher Education. His interest in environmental studies goes three decades back when as an awardee of Ford Foundation Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of Wisconsin, USA, he took up research in reproduction and environment. Later, he continued this work at the University of Connecticut, USA as a Visiting Professor under Fullbright. As a Professorial Fellow at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), UK, Prof. Uberoi delivered a series of lectures including ‘Environment in Indian Context’. These lectures were published by MMU in 1997. He has conducted several Training Programmes on Environment for University, College and management school teachers, including programmes sponsored by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India.
Prof. Uberoi has published a large number of research papers in national and international journals. His edited book on “Professional Competencies in Higher Education”, sponsored by UGC is a core study material for University teachers all over India. He has done a course on Advanced EMS, Auditing for Quality & Environmental Professionals accredited by EARA, UK, conducted by FICCI. Prof. Uberoi was the Director (CPDHE) Delhi University and prior to that he served as the Principal of Hans Raj College.
At present he is the Dean (DLP) at IMT and teaches Environmental Management to Management Students. He is the member of Committee of Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, concerning the issues of Management Education in management institutions.
Prof. Uberoi is the recipient of Best Teacher Award by Association of Indian Management Schools.
